Being in the east end of Mississauga, Applewood offers plenty of options for commuters like the QEW/Gardiner down the road and the 427 just to the east. The Houses

Applewood is a great area for you if you are looking for a bit more square footage and are willing to take on a bit of a project in a slightly older home. Many homes have decent size yards as well so there is a lot to like about the options in this neighbourhood.

The Dixie GO station is in the area and will get you into downtown Toronto within 30 minutes during rush hour. The QEW/Gardiner is also just down the road so Applewood is a good choice for those looking for a simple commute.

The Parks

There are many parks throughout Applewood that are nice spots to take your family for an afternoon. The Applewood Trail is a 3 km trail that runs alongside Little Etobicoke Creek. There are many places to stop for a picnic, a game of soccer, or grab your bike and check out the scenery as you ride along the trail.

The Shopping

Applewood is a short drive from many shopping destinations such as Sherway Gardens and Square One. There are also many big box stores along Dundas St. such as Costco and Wal Mart so everything you need will be close by.

Excellent fish and chips at very reasonable prices. Make sure to bring cash as this family run business is cash only.

Marconi Pizza:

This is a great spot if you're looking for something different than the pizza chains. Very flavourful, thin crust, and 24 slice party pizzas that are perfect for taking home for a party.

Leao D'Ouro:

Leao D'Ouro is a Portugese restaurant with many delicious traditional dishes and very reasonable pricing. The cod and salmon are excellent and the friendly staff will bring your dishes out in no time.

Driving:

The QEW/Gardiner is fairly close by and that is the best bet for commuting into the city. You will get into downtown Toronto in approximately 30-40 during rush hour.

GO Train:

The Dixie GO is a great choice for commuting into Toronto as you can get into Union Station in less than 30 minutes. Check out the GO schedule below:
