Yesterday I viewed a house with an indoor swimming pool. This wasn’t a mansion, it was just a 2200 square foot house where the owners decided to use half of the house to have an indoor pool. While the current owners probably LOVE this pool the fact is, majority of people will be turned off at the sight of it and they will likely have difficulty selling this home.
While this is a total extreme, many sellers often wonder whether or not it will be difficult to sell a house with a swimming pool. Keep this in mind: You only need ONE buyer. There are many people out there who would love a house with a pool and they would also be willing to pay a premium for it.
The best way to ensure you are able to maximize the value of selling a house with a swimming pool is to make sure it is a stand out feature of your property that is well maintained so that buyers feel more comfortable about the purchase. You also want to make sure the marketing message for your listing is geared towards buyers who would be interested in a home with a pool.
